Teeth-Colored Fillings in Midlothian

Dental cavities are one of the most common dental issues most dental practices treat. Cavities are permanently damaged areas within a tooth that develop into tiny holes. Cavities develop when bacteria erode the dental enamel. Sometimes, there may be no symptoms but if untreated, cavities can cause toothaches, infection, and even tooth loss.

In the past, most dentists filled cavities with an amalgam material which is a mixture of metals, like mercury or silver. After years of research, we now recognize that metal fillings do not adhere very well with tooth enamel, and there are much better alternatives for patients.

At Vacca Family Dentistry in Midlothian, VA, our dentists Dr. Richard Vacca and Dr. William Vacca both utilize tooth-colored fillings (also called white fillings or composite fillings.) One of the many benefits of this composite resin used to fill cavities is that it protects the integrity of the tooth.

Does Insurance Cover Tooth-Colored Fillings?

Considered a Common Treatment

Composite resin fillings (tooth-colored) are a common treatment for dental cavities so they are typically covered by dental insurance. A member of our administrative team will talk to your dental insurance company to understand your coverage so we can calculate if you can expect any out-of-pocket costs.

Dental Financing Options

If you don't have dental insurance, we will go over the payment methods we accept at your consultation, as well as our no-interest for 6-months CareCredit financing options.
