Dr. Richard Vacca has been recognized in Virginia Living magazine as one of Central Virginia's topDentists™ for over a decade and is honored to have received the Patients' Choice Award in 2012. Dr. Vacca received his undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech and his dental degree from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry. Following dental school, he completed a hospital-based General Practice Residency at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago.
Dr. Vacca has been a family dentist in Midlothian, serving families in and around Richmond, Chesterfield, and Midlothian for over 34 years. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, Richmond Dental Society, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and Virginia Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. He currently serves as president of the Midlothian Dental Study Club.
Dr. Vacca and his wife Diane (also Va. Tech Class of 1984) live in Midlothian and have three sons: Joe and his wife Kara (both Va. Tech Class of 2012) live in New Jersey with their three children; Will and his wife Chelsea (both Va. Tech Class of 2014 and VCU School of Dentistry Class of 2018) live in Richmond; and, Dominic (Va. Tech Class of 2017 and Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine Class of 2022) currently lives in Columbia, SC where he is completing an Internal Medicine Residency.

Dr. William Vacca was born and raised in Midlothian. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Virginia Tech where he majored in Biological Sciences and earned a minor in Spanish. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from VCU School of Dentistry and graduated in 2019. During his time in dental school, he became involved in the school's intramural sports, including softball, basketball, flag football, volleyball, and others. His graduating class of 2019 won over 8 university championships.
Following dental school, Dr. Vacca continued his education with a hospital-based General Practice Residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ where he served as Chief Resident. There, he gained advanced training in a broad range of dental procedures for individuals of all ages and from all stages of life.
Dr. Vacca has always enjoyed being active with community and volunteer projects. In recent years, he’s had the opportunity to work with Missions of Mercy (free dental care events for underserved communities), VCU‘s Give Kids a Smile Day, Virginia Dental Association's Annual Day on the Hill, and be part of an overseas mission trip to Jamaica. Outside of dentistry, you‘ll likely find Will and Chelsea enjoying time outdoors, all Hokie sports, and exploring all that neighborhoods like Rockett’s Landing, The Fan, and Scott’s Addition have to offer. Dr. Vacca also enjoys running, fishing, golfing or relaxing with family and friends. Go Hokies!!
